This was a worthy entry into the Fern series, but while I played it, it did not seem to be the strongest. In terms of graphics, it easily beats the rest. The gameplay was also better, and more polished. Not sure why, but it didn't have that certain charm the rest have. It may be because the cast in this one is not recognizable, which was surprising, and can be good or bad, based on preferences. There was something about it that lost that touch the others have. Don't get me wrong, change is good. But, it is entirely one's opinion. Anyway, the game was good, the battles were much more fluid than in the other games, but sacrificed that Fern charm. Overall, it was a good game and a good finish to the series, however, I just happen to prefer some of the older ones.

Thank you.

It's not a bad concept at all. I just think it could have been executed a bit better. I think that there are too many colors to cycle through, and in a bind, you would never make it out. It's not a bad idea though, and it's a good start. I do understand that was the deadline, but if you put more than 5 days into this, it could be much better .

thePalindrome responds:

Yeah, the large amount of colors combined with the fact that you need the contrasting colors to defeat enemies is really the biggest reason why people didn't like it. Thanks, I'm hoping to improve this greatly because this is my first game out in the wild, so I'd like to make it good. Hopefully, if this does well enough, I'll put it on Kongregate!

Never reviewed this, so here it is. This game is great. Only complaint is that it's short. This game is hilarious. Everyone who gave a 0 is an idiot, this isn't meant to be front page material ON PURPOSE. It's meant to entertain you and you must not take it seriously to fully enjoy it. The little things are the best, and this game is a testament to it. For example, before the first boss, when Private Crappy randomly shoots her gun down the street, just so random and reckless but awesome. Soundtrack ensures hilarity as well. The jokes, flaws, and gameplay add up to a very funny, albeit short adventure on a grand stream scale. Simply put... masterpiece.

VioletVulpine responds:

Thanks!

It's not bad at all. It is a little hard because your vision is limited, leaving you with little time to react. Also, it is very difficult determining which obstacle will hit what character, and then what key to hit; again, with not much time to do so. And as always, funny and entertaining.

Thank you.

It's not a bad start at all. Everything works properly. The gun, firing, etc. look great. The background may need some work though. The green balloons are really small, I didn't notice them until halfway. Maybe make them easier to see, and maybe bigger in size? Also, you have some clipped edges throughout. Overall, this is the start of a decent game. Also, using this setup you have here seems like it would work well as a shooter game, not just a game for score.

Pivot4 responds:

Thank you.
I might make the background animated.
The green balloons are really small because they are hard to get. It says that if you click help.
The reason i made it so small was because they are rare, hard to get, they give you 50 POINTS!!!
But if you are having trouble with getting even one green balloon click Stretch Game, its on the top of the game. Btw, I can make a fps shooter, even being able to walk(i figured out how to do it), like any fps game like, Call of duty, combat arms, BattleField, etc, but i can't be stuffed.

Pretty funny

It wasn't bad. My only complaint, was that there were too many levels, in my opinion. But it was surprisingly satisfying, and found myself giggling a lot. Overall, not bad.

Aprime responds:

Too many?? Lol. I was planning on adding more levels in the next one! Haha

Pretty cool

Took me a while to figure out what to do, and I read the instructions. Wow, I forgot somehow. It is pretty fun. It looks pretty cool too. The white background is the only real problem, besides the dying part. I think this type of game would be better made just for fun, and not that hard. Overall, nice little game.

uglyslug responds:

Noted. Thanks for the review!

It's okay

I do like the graphics, all dark looking. The gameplay wasn't so great. First off, you rate of fire is way too low/slow. Hitting the... rocks, or asteroids were way too hard, lining it up like that was just, mostly luck. Maybe an upgrading system could make this better, maybe some music. I do like the addition of two player though. Overall, not bad.

JordanBrown responds:

Thanks for the feedback :).

About the upgrading system, there is one in place - if you keep your accuracy above 65%, your base "researches" upgrades that increase stats like reload time, missile speed/size, etc. Would it be better if I made obtaining upgrades easier? I do have to say that I don't find hitting is too hard (could be because I made the game though...), I'll just up the size of the bombs/missiles a bit.

Thanks again!

I dunno...

So basically a tutorial to cheat on Flash games? Kinda lame, but I guess it's helpful, and easy to use...

Thracian responds:

Thanks.

An okay start

But it's missing alot of things you could have quickly thrown in. First off, it looks really boring. At least there is some music. You could spice everything up with filters, and throw in a background. Also, a stopAllSounds(); ... the song played twice when I died.

flsh responds:

thanks for the review. as for the music issue, i fixed that in Avoidence 2. which is a little different from this one, check it out if you would like.

Check my lame site for Arse Man 2 updates!
